Dominique was raised near Lyon, France. This was the perfect place for him to learn his love of cooking from the best Chefs in the world. He started cooking at age 16 at the famous Maison Troisgros. Several years of moving between great restaurants, Dominique landed himself a job working with acclaimed chef Paul Bocuse, one of the finest chefs of the 20th century. Several years later Bocuse was recruited by Disney to open the French Pavilion at the Epcot Center in Orlando, FL. Chef Bocuse, recruited Chef Dominique to accompany him.

Meanwhile Elaine, an Orange County native, was sharpening her baking skills at the legendary Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. After completing her coursework, she continued at the school as an instructor, but her mentors encouraged her to continue her work under the most famous chef in France at Epcot.

In 1984 Elaine and Dominique were married. In 1986, the pair moved to Los Angles where they started their family. Fast forward to 1992. Elaine and Dominique were looking to start their own place. They settled on being close to Elaine’s father in Colorado Springs and they opened the small restaurant on Centennial Blvd, Marigold.

Fifteen years later, Dominique is still inspecting the plates as they go out to guests tables. He demands perfection of all of his staff. Elaine is no less vigilant as she greets her guests as they enter the restaurant. For them, this is their passion, to share with their guests.
